2017 Summer Mission Trip - July 9-15
This year, our mission team worked to help flooded residents of White Sulphur Springs, WV. We stayed at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church in Lewisburg WV, and (unlike most trips) worked almost exclusively on new construction. We worked under the direction of long-term volunteers of Christian Public Service in “Hope Village” a greenfield community for families who lost their homes in the 2016 flooding. There is plenty of work to do up there and we have discussed scheduling a long-weekend up there. If any of you all are looking for a place that’s under 2 hours away, with plenty of interesting sites nearby, I can’t think of a better one. We have 52 weeks of the year so taking one or two of them to help folks in other areas is a different and much-needed experience.
